My Yellowcard Frustration

so.....it's been announced all over the radio station that YELLOWCARD.....(my F-A-V-O-R-I-T-E band in the whole wide world) will be playing at the X96 Big Ass Show in Salt Lake City on September 23 2006.....

and guess who's going to be in new york during that time?!?!?!

yeah.....moi......arg

i'll be clear across the country when my band will be playing in my home city......

*le sigh*

what FRUSTRATES me the most......is that BEFORE i even planned my trip to new york......i pulled a "pitch fever" and checked yellowcard's offical website.....glimpsed the tour roster.....and is salt lake listed anywhere on there???.....NOOOO.....and it still isn't.....

a few things that i don't get about the whole thing:

1 - yellowcard was here nov 2005 --- april 2006 --- and then sept 2006???......3 times in one year???.....and it's SALT LAKE......i mean, they DID say they like playing salt lake.....that it was one of their favorite places to bring the rock......but they say that with EVERY city.....

2 - according to the tour roster.....yellowcard will be playing in hanford CT on 09/20 and in allentown PA on 09/25.....there IS a 5-day gap there......i guess they can make it out to salt lake......but that doesn't make sense.....why would they come all the way here, just to go back????

3 - and if it WAS planned that they were coming to salt lake.....

WHY ISN'T IT ON THE FREEEEAKING TOUR ROSTER?!?!?!?!

4 - the Big Ass Show of 2003 is where i first fell in love with yellowcard and to hear that they will be playing the venue again and i can't be here to see them.....makes me sad.....yellowcard + big ass show=soft spot :(

i literally cried last week when i found out......seriously.....shedding.....tears.....crying.....

i'm frustrated.....cos the X96 Big Ass Show has a really good line up this year.....but figured i could miss this year's cos i didn't think yellowcard would come because their freaking roster says they'll be on the east coast......

i figured that i could just go see the show in allentown on the 25th......but i can't freaking afford it......i would have to rent a car to get from new york to allentown......and buy floor tickets......

i checked and floor tickets (i only do floor tickets) are ranging at about $45-$52 each.....WTF.....the Big Ass Show is only $20 and not only is yellowcard going to be there.....but all these other bands: http://www.x96.com/12605time/station/bash06.asp ....

and btw.....i've never spent more than $25 per ticket for general admission/floor for a yellowcard concert......

renting a car is cheap.....it's the deposit that's kicking my ass.....enterprise wants $250 for their deposit plus the cost of the car (approx $325 up front)......dollar wants $350.....WTF......i'd only be renting for ONE day.....but i guess it's new york's policy....and i KNOW it's just a deposit......but i don't want my credit card tied up in case of emergency......

and yeah yeah.....i know what you're all thinking......it's JUST yellowcard.....it's JUST a concert.....but yeah......it's a concert that i will be sad that i'm missing......
